The Hunters Challenge

Get ready to unleash your inner marksman in the ultimate test of skill, precision, and adventure—welcome to The Hunters Challenge! Picture this: you’re deep in the rugged, wind-swept hills of rural Nevada, where the wild terrain becomes your battlefield. This isn’t just any shooting comp—it’s a heart-pounding, adrenaline-fueled showdown that mimics the thrill of a real hunt, pushing you to your limits with your trusty hunting rifle in hand!

Strap on your hunting pack, grab your range finder, bipod, and all the gear you’d take into the backcountry—because here, it’s all about authenticity. You’ll tackle four epic stages, firing a total of 36 rounds against silhouette targets with steel plates at their vitals, at unpredictable, varied distances. The clock is ticking, the wind is whispering secrets (or howling challenges), and every shot counts as you dial in your dope and squeeze the trigger. Miss? That’s the hunt talking—adapt or get left in the dust!

But hold on, thrill-seekers—the real rush hits at one of those stages with the bonus target lurking beyond 1,000 yards! That’s right, a long-range beast that dares you to prove your mastery over gravity, wind, and sheer distance. Nail it, and you’re a legend; whiff it, and it’s fuel for the next round of glory.

Whether you’re a seasoned hunter chasing bragging rights or a sharp-shooter hungry for that next-level rush, The Hunters Challenge is where legends are forged under the Nevada sun. Gear up, lock and load—adventure awaits! Who’s ready to claim the crown?

Defensive Shooting Tune-Up 9/12/2020

Jim is the real deal as an instructor. Clear. Articulate. Focused. Solid material that is presented in an exceptionally clear and concise way. And . . . he’s not afraid to laugh, crack a joke and be just one of the guys on the line. Six shooters spent around 5 hours on the range getting a tune-up of the fundamentals . . . stance, grip, sight alignment, sight picture, trigger press, follow through. Single round engagements. Accelerated pairs. Movement. Everyone made significant progress. It is a rare thing in instructors when they can take a very complex task, break it down into distinct chunks and then tweak away on a shooter to get the very best out of them. Jim did a great job. Thank you! You can read my complete review at . . . https://eiaft.blogspot.com/2020/09/review-jim-erwin-defensive-shooting.html

Jim is so patient with me. I am left handed and ‘thought’ I would shoot left handed. Jim really helped me work through this with such patience. I shoot right handed better then with my left! His explanations are always helpful. I just don’t like when he tells us we have to run up the hill! Funny guy! I’m too old!!

Jim is beyond qualified in the art of self defense as well as gun safety, and all aspects of teaching about this craft. Fantastic way to get certified and learn about protection. I especially appreciate that this course is welcoming for all levels.

Jim Erwin's Wife's Perspective

Rated 5 out of 5
August 19, 2020

So most people have met me if they have taken a class with Jim. My name is Annaliese and I’m his wife of quite a few years. I’ve always been a “long gunner” shooting rifles either target or for hunting purposes. Before Jim I had never really shot pistols or even dove down deep into the complexities of long range shooting. With the training I have received from Jim I have become a more proficient long range shooter and have improved leaps and bounds in my pistol craft. Now most couples will say they can not learn well from their spouse, they butt heads and someone usually gets frustrated. This is not the case with Jim and me. I learn from him every time we go out and shoot, whether it be pistol, carbine or long range. He always has so much patience, explains things so I understand and really gives me something new to think about each time we go out. I really think this speaks highly of him as an instructor and I’m not writing this to just write it. If you ask anyone close to us they will attest to everything I have said. He truly makes everything enjoyable and attainable.
